On Saturday, October 20, we’re planning a group visit to Wayzgoose, the annual day-long festival celebrating the art and craft of printing, held at Gaspereau Press in Kentville, NS.
According to Wikipedia, “a wayzgoose was at one time an entertainment given by a master printer to his workmen each year on or about St Bartholomew’s Day (August 24). It marked the traditional end of summer and the start of the season of working by candlelight.”
The Gaspereau Press Wayzgoose will feature readings, presentations, informal and formal discussions, and an open house.

Guest printer Lindsay Schmittle (second from left) gave a presentation on her five-month trek of the Appalachian Trail and the art poster project it inspired. L–R Julie Cochrane, Lindsay, Jena Parsons, Holly Edmonds.
