Twig AGM
April 10, 2021
The 2021 AGM of the Nova Scotia twig is scheduled for Saturday, April 10. Up for discussion are several motions to update Editors Canada governance documents. These can be sent to members for preview upon request.
We’ll welcome new members, review the year, and preview what’s on the horizon.
Also on the agenda will be a vote for a new co-chair. Co-chair Becky Skillin will be moving to Jordan in June and Molly Rookwood has agreed to take over the role; however, a formal vote is required and members will receive a ballot prior to the meeting. We’re also looking for a second volunteer to take over for the second co-chair, Margo Grant.
Those wishing to attend the AGM should email the twig for a link to the Zoom meeting.
STET!
On Saturday, March 13, we held an online social event. Molly Rookwood facilitated a rousing game of STET! Dreyer’s English. Scoring 17.5 points out of a possible 18, Patricia MacDonald was awarded a copy of Dutch Oven as a prize.
WEB Lunch
On Wednesday, March 10, the Wolfville Editors’ Bunch gathered in the Zoom room for a friendly chat. It’s hoped that with COVID-19 restrictions gradually being eased in Nova Scotia, these events can take place in person again very soon.
Changing terminology and Indigenous style
Saturday, April 24, 11:00 am, Kaitlin Littlechild will answer any of our questions related to changing terminology and Indigenous style.
Incorporating Indigenous language and terminology
Saturday, March 27, 11:00 am, Candida Hadley will facilitate a discussion of what we have discovered and absorbed into our editing practices for recognizing and eliminating bias and what to use or avoid in order to accurately and respectfully use Indigenous language and terminology.
