As an LGBT+ editor and writer, I know the power of words. I help writers like you make your writing kinder for your readers, whether that means fixing grammatical errors that could trip up your reader, or ensuring all language is inclusive. I have a BA from Dal, majoring in English and Creative Writing with a minor in Classics. I am currently enrolled in SFU’s Certificate of Editing. I live in Halifax, use she/her pronouns, and am a bi ace member of the LGBT+ community.

I began editing 18 years ago and continued throughout a 9-year high school English teaching career before focusing exclusively on my editing and writing business. I have particular experience in workplace mental health, large-scale projects, and poetry and fiction.
Memberships include the Professional Writers’ Association of Canada and the Writers’ Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador. I’ve taken courses on stylistic, copy, and developmental editing, and plain language.

Margo Grant
I am a freelance copy editor and a proofreader of the Hansard when the Nova Scotia legislature is in session. In my down time I read, solve puzzles, do yoga, go on hikes, cycle, swim, make music (I play euphonium in two concert bands), and I’m an active community volunteer.
Antoinette Karuna
I edit a variety of texts, from educational materials (most recently in Treaty Education) to government reports. I also create style guides. My areas of expertise include art, culture, business, and education. I earned a BA in Communication Studies from Concordia University and am currently undertaking an MFA at Memorial University. In addition to working as a writer, editor, and translator (FR & DE to EN), I teach filmmaking at St. Francis Xavier University and am a practicing visual artist.

I am a member of Sweetgrass First Nation in Saskatchewan and currently reside in Oromocto, New Brunswick. I received my Master of Public Health from the University of Waterloo in 2011, a certificate in Addiction Studies from McMaster University in 2016 and a certificate in editing from Simon Fraser University in 2019. I also received a BSc(H) in biology from Queen’s University in 2007.

I write. I edit. I love doing both, and have been earning my keep this way for four decades. I was a full-time magazine editor and maintained a freelance writing and editing business through the 80s and 90s. I moved into corporate marketing communications and then internal employee communications, first in manufacturing and then, for 18 years, in the oilfield services industry. Currently, I’m a freelance writer/editor based in Lunenburg, NS, with clients in Norway, India, Canada and Britain.
